During our Advent course last year, we studied “An Unlikely Advent” by Rachel Billups, who shared a heart-warming initiative she started in her home, fostering community, extending a welcome to newcomers, and offering support to those who found themselves alone.

Inspired by this, I’d like to introduce a similar tradition here. I propose a Friday Night Supper at the vicarage, scheduled for the final Friday of each month (until the end of June initially).

The vision for this evening is one of genuine and relaxed camaraderie. While we encourage a bring-and-share approach for those who can contribute, the core focus lies on extending invitations, providing a warm welcome, and fostering hospitality.

My prayer is that this event becomes an inviting space, particularly for newcomers. It offers a wonderful opportunity for us to connect, share stories, and build meaningful relationships.
